Welcome to My Recipe Book!

Let’s call this a place for dabblers.

I discovered a love of baking a little over 10 years ago. I’ve always dabbled, but never truly committed; opting for boxed mix and frozen desserts over making anything from scratch. (The unfortunately unreliable ovens of rental apartments may have played a role here…)

I’m a self-taught baker, and a self-appointed food nerd. It’s fascinating to me that basic ingredients like flour, salt and water can produce a beautiful loaf of bread. #FoodScienceisCool

This is a collection of recipes that have produced consistent results for me. I test a recipe over and over again to make sure the first time isn’t a fluke. I’ll also share some secrets I’ve learned along the way and where you can (or probably shouldn’t) cut corners in a recipe. This is the way.

Although I grew up eating sprinkles on toast, I don’t have a heavy sweet tooth. The recipes you’ll find here will likely be a little less sweet to what you’re used to.

Don’t worry, we’ll get by with a little hope and a lot of frosting!
